According to regulations set by the Department of Transportation (DOT), liability insurance must meet a minimum limit of $750,000/$1,000,000. We can provide a policy with a $750,000 aggregate limit (AL) but require a $1,000,000 AL for any risk that will travel over a 500-mile radius. It is not possible to have split AL limits per MC or DOT number. Instead, we file with the US DOT based on the required AL limit provided by the US DOT in CAB or SAFER.
